Des’Ev Fashion Academy holds maiden graduation ceremony

Des’Ev Fashion Academy, a leading institute in fashion design and allied business in Ghana has held its 1st graduation ceremony on Saturday 19th March, 2021 in Accra.

The maiden graduation ceremony was under the theme “ Curbing Unemployment through achieving competence based,creative and entrepreneurial skills in fashion industry.

Delivering his keynote address, the Guest speaker , Mr. Franklin Adjetey ,Principal of British International School , charged students not to feel limited by the challenges that confront them today. Stay above these challenges and be motivated by the quest to succeed and fight to win.

He further admonished the graduands to leverage on the skills they have obtained to help drive their agenda for success.

The president of the Des’Ev Fashion Academy,

, Mrs Evelyn Addai Boakye, on her part, urged the graduating students to be focused and apply the knowledge they have obtained at Des’Ev Fashion Academy to make their lives better. “

According to Mrs Evelyn , Des’Ev Fashion Academy’s main goal is to produce competent, creative and entrepreneurial graduates whose impact can be felt almost immediately after graduation” she stressed.

Touching on plans for expanding the Institute she said: “With our accreditations with these strong institutions, we look forward to expand across the country and possibly outside Ghana.

The outgoing students showcased various stunning and exceptional designs appropriate for various occasions such as red carpet events, church activities, conferences, and many more.

Overall, 40 students graduated with Advance certificate programs.

Priscilla Awuni emerged as the Overall best student for the 2022 graduating group. Currently, Des’Ev Fashion Academy has trained hundreds of young fashion designers across the continent.

Des’Ev Fashion Academy was established in 2018 with the aim of finding a simple solution to the complex problem of unemployment in the Ghana. It became operational with its first batch in 2019. It may be of interest to note that,within a short period of time the Academy has been accredited by Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET).
