Based on the FOOD topic, we decided to focus on the story ‘Handa’s Surprise ‘. We looked at children’s learning journey and represented on the display. The topic started with a mind map of what children know about food.
The story was introduced to them and they engaged in activities such as: drawing and colouring their favourite fruits or vegetables; making a shopping list and using the list to visit our Fruit and Vegetables shop in the role play area and actually buy the items on their list; making fruit salad and rewriting the Handa’s Surprise story.
